PACKAGING FROM START TO FINISH

We truly appreciate any monetary donations to our program as they are just as important to the continuance of our program as the wedding gown donations are.

Our volunteers purchase #3 soft baby yarn in pastel colors to create the hats and booties that accompany the infant bereavement outfit and also trim out the blankets.

Our monetary donations go 100 percent back into the program to purchase white thread for the seamstresses.   Fleece is sometimes purchased for the blankets as it is a quicker method to just knit or crochet the edges with yarn to finish the blankets and ribbon of pastel colors and thin are used for the trim on outfits as bows are created to accent the hats, outfits and for bow ties for the little boy outfits.  Ribbon is also used for the Memory bags as a draw string.

We have patterns for all the outfits that we create in four sizes, Micro, Tiny, Preemie and Newborn.  We also have patterns for the pouches, the memory bags and the layettes that we create.  When new seamstresses join or patterns wear out, we have the patterns printed at Staples.  

When completed, the outfits are matched up and packaged in the clear sealable cellophane bags that we purchase with the monies from our donations.

Thank you cards are purchased as well as stamps as we send a personal thank you to all our gown donators.

Each outfit that we create, as well as blankets and memory bags, contain an ironed on printed label that lets the recipient know that our hearts are with them.

We also include a business card for the parent and also the hospitals in case they would like to recommend us to other facilities.
