We received a request for our infant bereavement outfit sets from Ruby Khoury, RN who is a palliative care coordinator for Marian Medical Center in Santa Maria CA. We sent Ruby a large shipment of our items to her location for the babies that were in the NICU. Ruby received the items we sent and wrote the following THANK YOU letter to our volunteers:
" Thank you. Two words that hardly express the gratitude I feel for the love and care you pour into creating these beautiful gown sets for babies who are only able to bless us for such a short time.
One of the gowns we recently received will be given to a precious 2 month old infant born with a genetic disorder not compatible with life. This baby defied the odds and fought to stay with us for several months; she captured the hearts of everyone who met her.
The heartbreak her parents are experiencing is unimaginable; the sweet gown you gifted them is such a blessing in the midst of an incredibly difficult time. These are some of the poorest parents I have ever met, yet their love and devotion to their little girl was one of the most beautiful things to witness during her time in the NICU.
Thank you for the meaningful work you do; your generosity is a profound gift to families facing unimaginable loss.
As a palliative care nurse who works with infants who are not meant to remain with us on this earth for long, I cannot say thank you enough."
